Kim is the Director for Outside Activities at Harvard Medical School (HMS). Kim works closely with HMS researchers who collaborate with industry to ensure that any actual or perceived conflicts of interest are identified, eliminated or managed as appropriate. She oversees the implementation of the Faculty of Medicine on the Conflicts of Interest and Commitment Policy and the HMS/HSDM Policy on FCOI in Sponsored Research. This includes the annual collection and review of faculty outside activity disclosures, review of research proposals for conflicts of interest, and managing potential conflicts of interest. Previously, Kim worked at Partners HealthCare, Inc. in the Office for Interactions with Industry handling matters related to conflicts of interest in research. Kim also spent several years as a researcher at several biotech companies. Kim holds a BS in Biochemistry from Trinity College, a MS in Science Education from Boston University, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.
