The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) of 1977 makes it unlawful to provide payments or other inducements to foreign officials for the purpose of assistance with obtaining or retaining business. HMS faculty and staff collaborating or traveling abroad or even hosting foreign dignitaries here at HMS should be aware of the requirements of the FCPA.
